Police Department

It is a top priority of the Township of Union Police Department to protect and serve the residents of the Township of Union. We utilize the philosophy of Community Oriented Policing, which provides for the delivery of police services with a focus on the needs of the residents of the Community. It is the mission of the Union Police Department to be sensitive to the needs of the community and to work with residents to improve and maintain the quality of life within the Township.

The Township of Union Police Department encourages communication and listens to the concerns of the community. Through a proactive approach, utilizing community education and crime prevention, officers and the community become members of team with the common goals of reduced crime and improved quality of life.

Parking Enforcement

There are 2 Parking Enforcement Officers deal with parking violations that occur on Union's streets as well as in municipal parking lots.

Citizen reports may be used to report a crime/incident when police response is not necessary. These incidents may include minor after the fact crimes such as petty theft, harassment, criminal damage, minor assaults and motor vehicle burglary. They may also include non-crime incidents such as lost property, civil disputes and suspicious activity. Completed Citizen Reports should be mailed or brought to Union Police Headquarters located at 981 Caldwell Avenue Union, NJ
