The Township of Union is excited to announce the grand reopening of the Sgt. Herbert Davis Park Playground and Basketball Court with a Hoops For Hope event to be held Saturday, October 19 from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The event – hosted by the Union Recreation Department – will begin with a spoken program at 1:00 P.M., followed by a series of fun and entertaining basketball games featuring players from the Union Youth Travel basketball Teams. The afternoon will end with a game between employees from various township departments and schools. Players will be outfitted in pink Hoops for Hope t-shirts.
The project began in the summer of 2019 and was recently completed. The transformation of Sgt. Herbert Davis Park was updated with a modern poured in place rubber playground safety surface and a revitalized basketball court.
The event will include live music from a local DJ. Snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase.
