[ARCHIVED] Route 82 eastbound ramp to Route 22 eastbound to be closed and detoured overnight

Njdotofficials today announced the overnight closure and detour of the Route 82/Morris Avenue eastbound ramp to Route 22 eastbound for concrete repair work in Union, Union County.

Beginning at 8 p.m., tonight, Thursday, June 25, until 5 a.m., tomorrow, Friday, June 26, and continuing for four consecutive Thursday nights through Thursday, July 16, NJDOT’s contractor, I.E.W. Construction Group, is scheduled to close and detour the Route 82/Morris Avenue eastbound ramp to Route 22 eastbound for concrete bridge deck repairs. The following signed detour will be in place overnight:

Route 82/Morris Avenue eastbound ramp to Route 22 eastbound detour:

• Motorists traveling on Route 82/Morris Avenue eastbound wishing to take the ramp to Route 22 eastbound will be directed to continue on Route 82/Morris Avenue eastbound
• Take the jughandle across from the Lowe’s Home Store to make a U-turn onto Route 82 westbound
• Take Route 82 westbound and take the ramp for Garden State Parkway/Route 22
• Stay right at the fork to Route 22 eastbound

If work is completed early, the ramp will reopen sooner. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
