[ARCHIVED] Tropical Storm Isaias

Tropical Storm Isaias

Due to expected Tropical Storm Isaias starting Tuesday morning, a storm warning and flash flood watch have been issued for Union. Please be advised that widespread rainfall of 3 to 6 inches is predicted with a 60-70% chance of 40-50 mph sustained winds with gusts of up to 70 mph and minor to moderate storm surge concerns. It is expected to start raining late Monday night with strong winds starting Tuesday afternoon into the night during rush hour commutes. Please take extra precaution, especially if you live in flood-prone areas, and drive safe.

Municipal Parking Lots

• Our municipal parking lots are open free of charge to residents for overnight parking from 6 pm tonight until 6 am Wednesday, especially for those who live in flood-prone areas.

Safety tips during a tropical storm

• Avoid walking or driving through floodwaters. Just 6 inches of moving water can knock you down, and fast-moving water can sweep your vehicle away. • Be extra careful when walking outside. Storm damage such as downed power lines and fallen debris could injure you. • Secure outdoor furniture and take down all tents.

Report down power lines

• Call PSE&G at 1-800-436-7734 or log in to MyAccount immediately to report it.
