[ARCHIVED] Winter Weather Alert

In preparation for the impending major winter snowstorm on Wednesday and to help our First Responders and our Department of Public Works with snow removal, we would like to remind you to please keep your vehicles off the streets during the storm. By parking in your driveway, our DPW crews can quickly plow streets town wide, making them safe.

       •      For a Municipal Parking Lots (waived meter fees) list, visit uniontownship.com, and click on “Winter Weather Alert.”

Please be prepared for strong winds, heavy precipitation, and a possible snow accumulation of up to 12 inches during the storm. Remember to charge your cell phone before the storm hits and have a fully-charged external battery on hand.

       •      Do not approach or drive over a downed line, and do not touch anything that the wire is contacting. Any downed wires should always be considered “live.” To report downed wires or power outages, customers should call PSE&G’s Customer Service line at 1-800-436-PSEG or download the PSE&G mobile app.

       •      Please remember NOT to shovel snow onto the roadways and remove snow and ice within a 3-foot perimeter of any fire hydrant after the storm.

       •      To report a non-emergency, call the Union Police Department at 908.851.5000.

Please note that west zone garbage for Thursday and leaf collection for Thursday and Friday has been canceled due to the storm. West Zone garbage collection will resume on Monday, and leaf collection will resume next Thursday, Dec. 24th and Saturday, Dec. 26th.

Driving during and after the snowstorm is not recommended; however, please be extra cautious and yield to road crews if there is an emergency.

Stay warm, stay safe, and stay prepared.
