[ARCHIVED] Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics

On Friday, June 12th 2015, a group of Union Police Officers will queue up at the lower parking lot of Police Headquarters to participate in the Township’s leg of the Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics.
The Torch will travel throughout New Jersey until it arrives in Trenton to signal the beginning of the year 2015 Special Olympics. The Special Olympics encourages and provides an arena for competition in physical events for children and young adults with special challenges.
Union Police Sergeant, Michael Boll, this year’s Torch Run coordinator said,”It’s a wonderful thing that our officers are able to come out every year on their own time, and run the first leg of the Torch Run. Also it’s great to have the continued support from businesses and organizations in our Township have continued their generosity and caring,” said Boll.
“The Union Police Dept has sponsored and assisted with the Special Olympics for numerous years and this is just one event where our officers can make a huge difference in so many lives.”
