Some media outlets are referring to this as the "One-Ring Scam." Exposure for customers occurs when an unsuspecting customer attempts to return the call, they are connected with expensive adult entertainment services or international chat lines that charge a premium for the call. The call is also billed as International Long Distance charges, as well. Customers should be reminded not to call unknown numbers as they will be liable for all calls made from their device. Customers may not realize they are dialing an international number because the outbound call does not require an international dialing pattern.
