Lioni Latticini, Inc. owned by Giuseppe “Sal” Salzarulo & Salvatore Salzarulo, is a manufacturer of traditional fresh mozzarella products. In 1980, the family bought their fine art of cheese making to Brooklyn, New York where they created a name for themselves, Lioni Latticini. In the next three decades the Salzarulo family transformed their small neighborhood family business into a nationally renowned manufacturer and distributor of fresh mozzarella cheese in the United States.
Today, Lioni is still a family owned business based in Union located at 555 Lehigh Ave. The business has been operating in the same location for the past 14 years. They hold onto Old Italian values and traditions, but now utilize modern technology and computer monitored equipment imported from Italy.
