In 1978, Boris Fyodorov emigrated from the Ukraine where he was trained as a Tailor seeking “The American Dream”. Upon arriving in this country, he worked in factories but soon decided that he needed to open his own business for job security and personal satisfaction.
In 1982, with help from a customer who owned a local men’s store, Boris was able to open his shop, Union Center Cleaner and Tailor, on Morris Ave in a tiny storefront.
In 1984, Boris moved his business to its permanent home at 981 Stuyvesant Ave. and has been serving customers from that location ever since.
He is proud that many generations of customers have patronized his business for over 30 years.
Performing all services in the dry cleaning and tailoring business, Boris attributes his success and longevity to the store’s versatility and reliability.
