Albaner C. Eugene, Jr. has achieved the prestigious Eagle Scout award. He is being honored at a court of honor ceremony from Boy Scout Troop 68 on Sunday, June 29th at Connecticut Farms Church. Albaner is 18 years old and is a senior at Union high School in Union, New Jersey. He moved to Union in 2001 and attended Hannah Caldwell Elementary School. He later went to Central 5 Elementary School and Burnet Middle School.
Albaner held several positions in the troop, such as Junior Assistant Scoutmaster, Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, Instructor and Scribe. During his scouting years, Albaner was active in the community baseball teams. He started out playing on the Union Little League with the Jaguars in 2004 and also played for the Blaze Baseball Team.
Albaner’s Eagle Project was to renovate the 63 and ½ by 32 ft. Rumpus Room which is located in the Connecticut Farms Nursery School. Albaner and his team worked hard to scrape, clean and repaint all the masonary and plain walls, clean the 10 windows wash the curtains and re-hang them. The team wiped down and repainted 13 closets and 4 doors. The insides of 2 closets were painted where a pipe had broke. Two columns in the middle of the room were also painted. The entire tile damaged by the broken pipe was taken up and other broken tile by the front door was replaced with new tile. Then, the floor was mopped and shined for the finishing touch. Albaner will be attending college in Pennsylvania where he will study business administration and marketing.
