[ARCHIVED] Local Businesses to Support Child Abuse Awareness Month

The Township of Union, under the direction of Deputy Mayor Suzette Cavadas has organized a campaign to support National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The initiative involves several businesses in the Township who have agreed to coordinate a dine or shop to donate to benefit the Friends of the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) of Union County.

“As a parent there is nothing more important to me than supporting and protecting our children,” said Cavadas, “but as individuals elected to serve and represent our residents I feel like it’s our responsibility to make sure we are raising awareness and doing all we can.”

Donating business include Union’s United Taekwondo Academy and Blue Ribbon Bakery.

The following businesses will be hosting a “dine-to-donate” during the last week of April:

Tiff’s Burger and Alehouse - Tuesday, April 26th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Two Ques Cafe - Tuesday, April 26th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m.
Cioffi’s Restaurant and Pizzeria - Thursday, April 28th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Academy of Dance and Performing Arts will also be participating by donating a portion of proceeds from their Zumba class on April 27th.

The Friends of the CAC of Union County assists in paying for the costs associated with mental health intake evaluation and treatment for children at risk of post-traumatic stress disorder, suicidal ideation, and depression following the disclosure of sexual abuse.
