In celebration of Earth Day, Mayor Manuel Figueiredo and Committeeman Joseph Florio, joined the Department of Public Works, Representatives from the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Union County’s Master Tree Steward Program and a special 4th Grade class from Connecticut Farms Elementary School to plant a Snowfountain Weeping Cherry tree at Town Hall. After the tree-planting, the Master Tree Stewards took the students on a walk through Friberger Park where they helped identify various types of trees and learn about their unique ecological purpose.
