Township of Union - Following their tradition of spotlighting local Township businesses, this week the Committee of the Township of Union named Nunzio’s BBQ their June Business of the Month. Accepting the award was business owner Diana Yuen.

“Diana’s restaurant is the embodiment of diversity and community that so adequately descrivbe our town,” said Mayor Manuel Figueiredo.

As part of the spotlight, each chosen business is presented with an award from the Committee and their business is highlighted as a part of their televised Committee Meeting.

Nunzio’s BBQ Restaurant, located in the Vauxhall section of Union, opened 11 years ago.
Diana Yuen, the present owner, bought it 3 years ago. She is a Chinese Immigrant that came to America with her family when she was 10 years old.
“People often ask me why I own a Portuguese Style Restaurant,” Yuen said, “My answer is that I’ve always had an appreciation for good basic food.”
Nunzio’s combination of service and quality have made it one of the neighborhood’s favorite places to eat as their quality food and Family Value Meals are popular take-out dinners for busy families on the go.
It is also quickly gaining recognition for its community involvement and service. More recently, Nunzio’s started a giving campaign called “Eat for Charity.”
On the 1st of every month in 2016, Nunzio’s will donate 10% of the day’s gross sales to a local non-profit organization that helps our community. It is their way of thanking the local community that has supported them for over 11 years.
So far this year, they have made donations to the Boys & Girls Club of Union, the Sickle Cell Anemia Association of Union County, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the First Baptist Church Food Pantry in Vauxhall, and the Al-Anon Association- 12 Step Recovery Clubhouse.
