[ARCHIVED] Township’s 33rd Annual Tree Lighting Celebration Coming Dec. 4th

The Township of Union will hold its 33rd Annual Holiday Celebration and Tree Lighting in front of Town Hall on Sunday, December 4th.

“It’s always a joy to see the community come together,” said Township Mayor Manuel Figueiredo,“The Holiday spirit is alive and well in Union.”

Featuring performances from Township elementary schools, the Franklin School Chorus and student instrumentalists, the annual event draws hundreds of residents in celebration of the Holiday season.

The evening will also feature an ice carving demonstration by professional commercial sculptor, Bill Bywater, arts and crafts, holiday games and food vendors.

The festivities will culminate with a visit from Santa, and the lighting of the tree by Fire Chief Thomas Byrne and family.

Photos with Santa will be available inside Town Hall immediately after the Tree Lighting.

The event will begin at 2:30 p.m. with the ice carving demonstration and the tree lighting ceremony will begin at 5:00 p.m. The event is free of charge to attend.
