The Township of Union held its annual Reorganization Meeting earlier this week. As part of the ceremonial event, Suzette Cavadas was sworn in as Mayor, Clifton People to a new term as Committeeman, and Joseph Florio was voted in as Deputy Mayor. In her address to the public after being sworn in, Cavadas laid out exciting plans for 2017 that include a Streetscape Program for Union Center and Springfield Ave, major redevelopment and the addition of Free Wifi in Union Center, and an initiative for women’s empowerment that will encourage young women to pursue careers in STEM Fields.
