As the weather starts to break, the Township of Union will be continuing its annual “Operation Clean Sweep”program, dedicated to beautifying and maintaining the cleanliness of the Town.Registration for this year’s event will take place at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday,May 13th at the Department of Public Works, 1 Swanstrom Pl, Union.
“What I love about this yearly event isthe spirit of togetherness that we experience when we gather and work with ourneighbors to maintain the vibrancy of our parks,” said Mayor Suzette Cavadas.“Not only is there a real tangible and physical benefit to this event, but areal sense of pride in knowing that you are doing your part to ensure that ourtown continues to shine.”
After signing in at the Department ofPublic Works and obtaining your “Operation Clean Sweep” t-shirt, participantswill be dispatched to different areas, identified by the department to cleanthe Township of littler and debris.
A picnic for all participants will beheld following the cleanup at Rabkin Park beginning at 12:00p.m.

“Operation Clean Sweep” is part of theClean Communities Program, funded by a Clean Communities Grant. The NJ CleanCommunities Program is a comprehensive, statewide litter-abatement program thathas served NJ Residents and visitors for over 25 years.
