The Township of Union will be celebrating National Night Out Against Crime, taking place Tuesday, August 1st from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Union Police Headquarters on Caldwell Ave.
The festivities include a community picnic, tours of police headquarters, games, music, family activities and more.
“This is an excellent opportunity for members of the community to get out and not only meet their neighbors, but get to know the men and women who protect and serve them on a more personal level,” said Mayor Suzette Cavadas.
The event will also bring back the popular I-Denti-Kid Program, which provides children with identification cards. I-Denti-Kid is sponsored by Investors Bank and will be taking place at their Stuyvesant Ave Branch from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live. It culminates annually on the first Tuesday in August bringing together neighbors from across thousands of communities from all 50 states, United States territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide.
