The Mayor and Committee of the Township of Union honored Tiffany Negron and her restaurant “El Lechon de Negron” with their prestigious “Business of the Month Award” at their Tuesday committee meeting.

The award is presented to local businesses that present quality service and community partnership within the Township of Union.

“We’re so happy to see young people, who were raised here in town, turn around and reinvest in our community,” said Mayor Suzette Cavadas.

A business that specializes in authentic Puerto Rican pig roast and cuisine, El Lechon de Negron started as a food truck business that was founded by the Negron family in 2012. Since then it has grown to be a well-known brand with their brick and mortar restaurant thriving right here in Union, and their food truck business continuing to grow.

“We started from very humble beginnings with a food truck, and we worked 24 hour shifts sometimes” said Tiffany Negron, owner of El Lechon de Negron. “I have a great team and a great family behind me.”

The restaurant has been in operation in Union for two years. Within that time, the business has been involved in the community through being an active member of the Chamber of Commerce and also through their donations to the local fire department, police, senior citizens, and schools.

The restaurant has made it their goal to spread Latin flavor across New Jersey. With their full menu ranging from traditional classic dishes to creations of their own, El Lechon de Negron has brought forth a variety of unique Latin tastes to the local town.

El Lechon de Negron is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at their Magie Ave. location.
