The Mayor and Committee of the Township of Union honored Atlantic Beach Soap Co. at their last committee meeting with the Business of the Month award, an award bestowed upon local businesses based on their quality of service and/or community partnership.
“This is the caliber of business we want to continue to bring into Union Center,” said Suzette Cavadas, Mayor. “There is nothing more representative of Union, than dedicated service, quality hand made products, and a unique mom and pop feel.”
A transplant from Cranford, Atlantic Beach is one of Union’s newest businesses and a welcome addition to Union Center.
Owned by Shawn Vanclief, the shop opened this fall and is quickly becoming a hot spot for customers looking for one-of-a-kind bath products.
Shawn is a highly acclaimed Executive Chef who made a decision to re-engineer his talents and passion for food preparation, presentation, and taste, and provide his customers with a new and exciting line of Olive Oil and Shea Butter based soaps.
After being presented with the award, Vanclief addressed the audience and praised the Township for their efforts to reinvigorate Union Center.
“I’m a resident of Union and after seeing the progress made in the Center, I was proud to bring my business to Union,” Vanclief said. “My point of sale has doubled since I moved to Union.”
According to Vanclief, his products are manufactured using “only the finest natural ingredients.” Each bar is handcrafted and identified by their deep, soothing scents, color and numbering scheme.
Atlantic Beach also carries a full line of Milk Baths and Mineral Salts as well as Bath Fizzies that complement the individual blends of the soap line. The store offers gift baskets for any occasion and will customize the products for wedding and party favors.
Atlantic Beach Soap Co. is located at 1023 Styuvesant Ave in Union. They are open Mon. to Wed. and Sat. from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thurs. and Fri. from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sun. from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
