The Mayor and Committee of the Township of Union are proud to host their 3rd Annual Women’s History Month Celebration themed “A Celebration of Local She-roes” on Monday, March 26th at 6:30 p.m. at Galloping Hill Caterers, located at 1085 Galloping Hill Rd.
“We’re excited to be recognizing women that are breaking barriers, shattering glass ceilings and inspiring our community every day,” said Suzette Cavadas, Township Mayor.
The program will recognize “She-Roes” in business, community, environmental action, and education, as well as one lucky “She-roe” in training. It will also feature a Keynote speech by Janet Davis, owner of Jade Jamaican Grill, and workshops by Tara Marcus of Dillon Marcus Executive Retreats and Denise Wilkerson of Abounding Women Community Outreach, Inc.
Davis is known for being tapped to cater the 2016 Democratic National Convention and the 2017 International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York. She has made numerous appearances on NBC and FOX television, and has been featured in the Philadelphia Tribune and Catering Magazine.
Marcus is the creator of the highly acclaimed Unleashing Women program that encourages women to become more intentional about their career goals, their leadership style, and their lives. Her workshop as a part of the Township’s women’s history event focuses on the three things that stop women from taking on the “next big thing.”
Wilkerson is the founder of Abounding Women Community Outreach, Inc., an organization that focuses on empowering women through community outreach initiatives, professional skills training, and women’s empowerment events. She is also the CEO of Robert Scott PR, a boutique PR firm and a Councilwoman in Roselle, New Jersey. Wilkerson’s workshop as a part of the Township’s women’s history event focuses on steps to build a personal brand that drives opportunity and success."
The event will feature desserts and refreshments. In lieu of an admission charge, the Township will be collecting donations for the YWCA Family Justice Center. A minimum donation of $5 is suggested.
