Registration is now open for the Township of Union’s 3rd Annual Operation Gift Drop- a contest where Union families enter win a personal visit from Santa.
“The event is really exciting for the children and families of Union,” said Suzete Cavadas, Mayor. “The awe and amazement on the faces of children as Santa walks into their homes is incomparable.”
The event started three years ago and only 25 families were chosen at random for the special visit. Since then, the program has expanded with Santa enlisting the help of Union’s finest police officers and firemen to accommodate 100 families for the 2018 season.
Registration is now open at www.UnionTownship.com with the deadline to register being Monday, December 17. One-hundred families will be chosen at random and will receive notification via email by December 18 and confirmation of participation must be received no later than December 20.
Santa’s visits will then take place between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22. Exact time frames will not be given and all families are asked to maintain availability between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m. Santa’s helpers will contact watch family when they are in route.
If a family wishes for Santa to provide their child with a gift, the gift must be provided by the parent and be readily available upon his arrival.
