The Mayor and the Committee of the Township of Union and the Americans with Disabilities Act (A.D.A) invite residents to celebrate Autism Awareness Month with the 3rd Annual Jazz’d Up for Autism and “Light it up Blue” campaign.
“As a member of the Americans with Disabilities Act Committee, I am overjoyed with celebrating Autism Awareness Month with the residents of Union. This year we are proud to continue spreading awareness with our 3rd Annual “Jazz’d up for Autism” event in which we are excited to have the township come out in support of autism,” said, Michele Delisfort, Mayor.
On April 2nd, the Township kicked off the month with their “Light it up Blue” campaign for Autism. This campaign is to encourage all residents and businesses to use blue outdoor lightbulbs throughout the month of April, showing their support for Autism. Blue lightbulbs are available for pick up at Townhall, located at 1976 Morris Ave, Union, NJ, from 8:30 – 4:30 PM and at the Union Recreation Department, located at 1120 Commerce Ave, Union, NJ, from 8:00- 4:00 PM.
The 3rd Annual Jazz’d up for Autism Event will take place on April 24th from 6:30 - 9:30 PM at Lagar Restaurant on 1252 Stuyvesant Ave, Union, NJ. This year there will be a presentation by Effective School Solutions and music by The Bob McHugh Trio. Tickets are $30 per person, this includes food and soft drinks. Tickets can be purchased directly at Lagar Restaurant starting April 1st.
