On Saturday, March 29th, the Township of Union welcomed Bev’s Kake Kafé, located at 1406b Stuyvesant Ave. Union, NJ with their official ribbon cutting ceremony. Committeeman Manuel Figueiredo and Economic Development Director, Fatimah Raymond, alongside supportive family members and friends, attended the grand opening.
Bev’s Kake Café is one of the newest café in town offering delicious made to order cakes. The café also offers great tasting traditional Guyanese foods that can be enjoyed in the dine-in area. Owner Beverly Sarfo also plans to host children parties and an upcoming “Mommy and Me” pop-up event.
“This café is a dream come true. It incorporates all the things that I love, from event planning to cooking and baking, all in one place. I am proud of my café and cannot wait to share all the great food we have to offer with the residents of Union,” said Beverly.
During the grand opening, patrons had the chance to sample a few of their specialty chocolate, coconut and carrot cakes and traditional Guyanese donuts, gulgula.
“Both cakes that I have sampled today are beyond delicious and the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming”, stated Committeeman Manuel Figueiredo, “we look forward to the longevity of Bev’s Kake Café and the growth of this business. I will definitely be a frequent customer.”
