As the weather starts to break, the Township of Union is pleased to announce that they will be bringing back their Annual “Operation Clean Sweep” program. This program began in 1995, is dedicated to beautifying and maintaining the cleanliness of the township. The cleanup will be taking place on Saturday, May 18th at the Department of Public Works, 1 Swanstrom Pl. East, Union, NJ.

The event schedule is as follows:
8:30 A.M - check-in at the Department of Public Works
9:00 A.M - 12:00 P.M- Operation Clean Sweep will be taking place
12:00 P.M - A picnic for all participants will be held following the cleanup at Rabkin Park Family Cove. There will be free face painting and a DJ.
After checking in at the Department of Public Works and obtaining your “Operation Clean Sweep” t-shirt, participants will be dispatched to different parks throughout town, identified by the department to clean the Township of littler and debris.
“Operation Clean Sweep is a special event that brings our community together in helping our township maintain a clean and vibrant environment,” said Mayor Michele Delisfort “Seeing our volunteers and all the hard work that they put in and that our Department of Public Works put in, really shows how much pride our people have for Union.”

“Operation Clean Sweep” is part of the Clean Communities Program, funded by a Clean Communities Grant. The NJ Clean Communities Program is a comprehensive, statewide litter-abatement program that has served NJ Residents and visitors for over 25 years.
