The Township of Union is proud to announce their participation in Foodstock Week from now through July 16! As part of the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign, Union has joined the efforts to help bring “Peace. Love. Food” to our community with food insecurity.
Non-perishable food donations are to be delivered to the Clerk’s Office at Town Hall, located at 1976 Morris Ave by July 16th at 12pm. Donations made after the deadline will not be weighted in as part of the total weight collected for Foodstock but will still be collected for the Union Food Pantry.
Foodstock is a grassroots 501c3 organization that has been formed to assist with the needs of our less fortunate community members who are struggling to put food on their tables and to provide our generation with an opportunity to give back. Their successful effort began in 2010 with a small food drive event and to date, they have collected 380,000 pounds of food. Their efforts have greatly benefited local food pantries which have come to depend on the great work of the Foodstock organization.
